2022 ~ During the time in our Parlour/Cafe and nearing the end of Covid I was asked more and more to deliver food to homes and then events.
The catering for these events grew, running both the Ice Cream Parlour and Catering took a huge toll on my health, so with much sadness I closed the doors of my gorgeous Parlour.

The catering side of hospitality, I'm not going to lie, is harder than I thought 🤔 the customer side of it has been awesome, the food side of it takes up a huge amount of time, early and long hours on our feet.
After Menus have been confirmed we spend time sourcing ingredients from local suppliers, shopping at several locations and finding some suitable finishing touches to add to the table and food.
All of our foods are made up hours before the delivery time, some larger events we have worked through the night to ensure the foods freshness on delivery.
We have always delivered the ordered menus upon our crockery or serving boards. This is collected after the event at a time suitable for our customers, one of our customers favourite parts at the end of their event is, no washing up 👌 we have always stated we will wash up back at base.
Each booking can take upto four days from start to finish, some days we have several bookings on the same day so it's hands on full time.
Every booking we get is a blessing to be chosen as there are a lot of catering companies around.
I can honestly hand on heart say, in the three years catering we have not received a single complaint which I'm extremely proud of, as I put my heart and soul into every job we do. 🫶
From an Afternoon Tea for one on Mother's Day to feeding 200 at an event, we have driven back full of joy, being asked to cater again for families at different events makes me smile, bringing some joy with our catering and serving service at many Wakes is humbling.
Designing a menu of healthy hot main courses with a dessert to 30 children I've never met for the HAF Camps is challenging but the cries of "it's the Dinner Lady, what's for lunch" is fabulous knowing they have enjoyed and tried new foods prepared for them.
We have catered for so many Allergies, it's taken seriously in our Kitchen, I have maintained a 'Nut Free' menu throughout the years.
Each booking is different:
Themed Parties ~ Harry Potter hands down was the most fun but creating Snakes out of cucumbers, Spiders out of Burgers & Envelopes out of pastry was a test for our staff.
Ceremonies ~ Always privileged to be asked, the latest one was at Shillingstone Railway Station to celebrate the hard work of the Volunteers and the opening of the Track with the Steam Engine making it's first appearance to the 100 invited guests was emotional.
Teddy Rocks Festival ~ Volunteering to feed the amazing hardworking crew lunch for 9 days 2024 & 2025, also serving an afternoon tea to the brave children fighting Cancer visiting on the Saturday & Sunday are 10 hour days shopping, cooking & serving but one of the most unforgettable experiences ever and so proud that Cerys and I are involved ❤️
We have catered for several holiday guests at The Victorian Barn, our first booking involved serving a hot full English Breakfast including a Cold Buffett and drinks to 90 guests for 3 days, this was more about being organised and having my amazing staff on hand each time smiling and serving while I run around in the background keeping everything cooking, warm and food service topped up.
We have had several worldwide bookings 💫 A lady from Australia, again here on holiday staying at a luxurious house required an evening meal after travelling all day, Mother's day bookings from Canada & France for their Mother's who live in our area. A booking from Sweden required 50 packed lunches for their lunches whilst out on a hike in Dorset..
No booking is ever the same, we don't have menus to pass out as each persons requirements are different, I like to ensure we provide an individual with something that fits in with their event.
Catering is an amazing experience, very hard work but love making everyone's event that little bit extra special 🫶
