Our Story

I started my hospitality career full-time by opening Spoons of Dorset in 2020.

The decision to open an Ice Cream Parlour was something new for our beautiful town. Spoons as the locals call us opened as Covid hit but I decided to stay open through it all abiding by the Government rules. This was a fabulous decision as the locals had somewhere to go and I got to introduce myself and all my ideas for my new venture.

Being such a wild creative person the ideas for expanding the Parlour just kept coming and so did the customers.

•Light lunches, hosting parties, themed evenings. 

•A menu of 30 flavoured Milk Shakes in the summer.

•Opening Christmas Day two years running 

•A menu of Hot Chocolates including a HC Bar in the winter serving Slow Cooked Hot Chocolate.

•Cookie decorating competitions 

•Pumpkin Carving

•Bubble Waffles

•Bubble Tea

•Candy Floss with or without Ice Cream 

•Father Christmas & Elves with Snow

I could let my imagination go crazy with food and drinks providing fun delicious creations and happy memories for my customers.

2022 ~ During the time in our Parlour and nearing the end of Covid I was asked more and more to deliver food to homes, then events. The catering for these events grew, running both the Ice Cream Parlour and Catering took a huge toll on my health, so with much sadness I closed the doors of the shop. 

2022 - 2025 I have catered with my wonderful team at some major events.

•Opening Ceremonies 

•Town Council

• Opening The Parish Centre on Christmas Day for anyone alone or in need.

•Two years feeding the Crew Lunch at Teddy Rocks.

Plus many more amazing events. 

New Year 2025 I took to the shops for ingredients, Butter being one of any caterers top buys, the price had gone up yet again so I studied the Ingredients to see why! The price now didn't matter, but the Ingredients did! What was I feeding my customers!! Heading home this got the creative and healthy mind working again to come up with our own butter, not only Salted but lots of new flavours.

Currently on sale in local shops and flying off the shelves I'm about to embark on the retail side and open a new shop in Blandford Forum in 2026.

Myself and my wonderful little business have grown through it all bringing us back a full circle to a Shop selling Ice Cream, but this time, we will be making our own.
